Presque Isle: Renovation begins at NMCC
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - A massive renovation of classrooms project was partially funded by a donation of one of the local companies has begun in northern Maine Community College.

The insurance company accepted money from the campaign for The County’s College, the College of the first major campaign, the gifts wrapped in the last month.

Dwight Clayton, NMCC chairman of the Business Division of Technology, spoke in a written statement that the renovation project with the students is “active learning of teaching.”
“The modernization of this piece is wireless, access and the implementation of laptops, students in learning applied to the content of the course,” he writes. “The design of the classroom is based on a facility for training in the insurance MMG. This project also includes rehabilitation of the adjacent storage space are converted to the simulation of a business conference room. This modest classroom training for small classes of the simulation conference meetings within the framework conditions for business. ”
Initial work on the renovation project was started last fall by Business Technology Faculty, in collaboration with the staff of NMCC of information and after-sales service, visited the new building over MMG. The building was arranged tour, so that visitors can see what aspects of work in the context of the new facility could be replicated in the classroom.
A concept has been developed, and after finalisation of the architectural projects were approved, the renovation began on March 27.

Tim Crowley, president of NMCC, said the generosity of the MMG insurance would have a “profound impact on our students,” and would also be an asset, University Faculty. In addition to the rehabilitation work, a new heating and ventilation systems are installed in the room and the insulation is seen as part of the construction. Funding for these aspects of the project will be by the NMCC part of the share of higher education loan to the voters of Maine, last November.
